Our project Mundane Manarahs was published in G+L – Garten + Landschaft, featured in the article “Arabische Nachtlandschaften” (“Arabian Night Landscapes”). The article explores how urban life in the Persian Gulf is largely organized around the night, and what this means for landscape planning and urban lighting design.
While in most Western cities public space is primarily designed for daytime use, in the Gulf extreme climatic conditions — particularly the intense heat during the day — mean that many social, economic, and cultural activities take place after sunset.
G+L Garten + Landschaft is a German magazine specializing in landscape architecture, urban planning, and environmental design. It is one of the oldest and most respected publications in the field.
